The weeks pass and look alike … with this weather months JanJuin! It’s snowing again. But whatever niche is looming and I want to join the friend Ludo and his customers for a tour of caskets. This four-day course designed to lead them to independence, on snow race and easy rock pretty hard. We leave Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans to rise along the valley of the Devil (place belies for those who love winter loneliness) to the refuge of the saddle. Home to the top by the guardian (former high school friend of Diois, nature sports section). We explain to our group race preparation, check the gear … Will follow, the aperitif guides and a good meal perfect for sinking into the arms of Morpheus, dreaming of the best races of the valley: pillar candau rake, crossed and standard gauge rake, N pillar of the tip upstream …
In the morning, our mountaineers apprentices are nicely appointed volunteer to lead the race on the normal route on the north head of the ledge. After some hesitation and discussion (crampons, no crampons, roping length …) we will reach the summit around 11. Without much ado we start the descent of the ledge of the neck towards the refuge of Chatelleret. Indeed, the South side to already much heated. After a couple of hours, one brewing in the deep, rotten snow, we feast of good food at the shelter.
Nap, and we go out follow the hoist of a guide on the big peak of Meije and its client. We take this output to give a practical-theoretical course on the conduct of an edge in the race. The aim of the day is the edge of Geny. The evening will warm while outside it’s raining! After a climb to Soreiller refuge in the rain (!), We will take advantage of the sunny afternoon to a snow course (stem a slide, short rope, hauling …). We organize the race the next day. E edge of the Soreiller West. A great race summarizing the previous three days. We find, snow, hallway, good rock … The group will arrive on floors cooked well and happy!
